Local author Michelle Collins Anderson will discuss the events of a local tragedy as she shares her book, "The Flower Sisters."
The West Plains Bond Dance Hall Explosion in 1928 was a tragedy that continues to haunt the community it devastated decades before. Local author Michelle Collins Anderson will share the story of the explosion while discussing her book, "The Flower Sisters," a fictional retelling of the events told through twin storylines fifty years apart. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
The Library Center is the headquarters of the Springfield-Greene County Library District. The 82,000-square-foot building houses major collections of print and electronic resources. These include special collections such as business and local history and genealogy; public Wi-Fi computers, four private study rooms, five small conference rooms, a kitchen and state-of-the-art reference technology. In addition, the Library Center includes other amenities characteristic of larger urban libraries.
